The organization sponsors the education of 34 students who lack proper access to education by paying their tuition fees and providing basic materials needed for school. The organization plans to enroll 50 more students by 2025, seeking $75,000 to realize this vision. Most school-going children in Kenya cannot access quality education for various reasons, including lack of finances, unstable families, early pregnancies, and parents’ death. Girls are particularly affected, with admission to school being more than 10% lower than boys.
Moraa Future Hope addresses this issue by scanning for needy students in the Kisii community and enrolling the most disadvantaged students, with particular attention paid to orphaned children and girls who stopped school due to early pregnancies, using data given by the government and community-based organizations. In addition, the organization provides school fees for the children. Upon graduation, it puts them through a curriculum, liaising with community partners, to give students meaningful work opportunities. Moraa Future Hope seeks $75,000 in funding to support its goal of providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children in Kenya and promoting gender equality.
